Psychosomatic Sex Therapy

Sex Therapy and Trauma Therapy in Wiesbaden

Nothing can cure the soul but the senses,
just as nothing can cure the senses but the soul.

Oscar Wilde

Psychosomatic sex therapy is a procedure in body psychotherapy that is specifically designed to address the concerns of clients that are situated in the area of sexuality and intimacy. A therapy encompasses the following five phases:

Clarification of the therapy goal
Perception of limiting beliefs and patterns
Dissolution of emotional and psychosomatic barriers

Reconnecting with the entire body and regaining greater sensitivity

Improvement and cultivation of further access to one’s own sexual energy

Concerns of clients differ greatly and include traumatic experiences such as experiences of violence as well as a changed sexuality after medical interventions.

In the field of feminine sexuality, psychosomatic sex therapy supports:

Regaining or balancing the libido
Relieving pain during intercourse

Overcoming psychosexual trauma due to sexual assault, difficult labour or surgery

Elimination of unwanted, sexual feelings of shame

Discovery and expansion of the ability to orgasm

In the field of intimacy, psychosomatic sex therapy strengthens the conscious and self-determined contact to one’s own sexuality as well as the perception and communication of individual needs regarding closeness and distance, creating more fulfilling relationships.

In the field of psychotherapy, the so-called “somatic transition” is taking place. New scientific research, such as the theory of polyvagal, reinforces the central importance of the inclusion of the body in the healing of many mental impairments. Especially in sex therapy, this opens up new, more effective ways to treat psychosexual concerns.

Psychosomatic sex therapy includes not only elements of classical conversational therapy but also methods of body therapy. In my practice, I work with the following procedures:

Sexocorporel

Psychosexual Somatics®
The procedures of Sexocorporel and Psychosexual Somatics are comprehensive body-oriented sex therapy methods. For body-oriented work, I suggest wearing expansive or stretchy clothes. The possibility to change clothes is available on site.
